Portrait Art
I love working with clients to create portraits that are a little bit different!

Wedding Art
Wedding day details are stories within a story.

Wedding Venues
Ask me about wedding venues. I'm happy to share my experience.

Pregnancy Portraits
Nothing to wear for your pregnancy shoot? Rest assured it's not about the wardrobe. How about a simple satin dressing gown?

Wedding locations
If you're stuck for ideas as to where to go for your wedding photos, feel free to ask me. I have an extensive knowledge of picturesque spots within the Bay of Plenty. Whether it's the beach, a garden or an old rustic barn, it's your day, your style, your choice.

International Clients
A fair chunk of my weddings are for couples travelling to New Zealand to marry in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. It's such a pleasure to take all the photographic worries off their shoulders, and be responsible for creating pictorial memories that they will treasure for a lifetime.

Yes, the weather turned to custard.
Did it matter?
No.

The Bridal Portrait
The time before the wedding ceremony, is uncomparably special. I encourage all my brides to be ready early, that way there is more time for shots like this.

Women's Portraits
This image is an example of skin smoothing/blurring done via photoshop, for clients who like this kind of effect. I would like to add that the shot of my model was already completely gorgeous prior to the photo editing.

Family Portraits
A gift voucher for a family portrait (or a family portrait sitting) makes a unique and thoughtful gift. Gift vouchers are available in a range of values. Sittings can be arranged for a date and time when all the family is together. Priceless!

Beautiful photos are a gift to ourselves and our families.
They are a timeless, intimate, and unique gift of love from one generation to the next.

Beauty in all the seasons of our lives.
True beauty comes from within, from the spirit - the essence of the person. It transcends facial features and age. It is not related to weight, height, shape, colour or clothing brand. The warmth and beauty of our spirit is what makes us each uniquely beautiful.

Afraid of having your photo taken?
I love to create beautiful images for people, particularly women, because great images are empowering – they create a ‘ripple effect’ which spreads out into all aspects of our lives. We should feel good about ourselves. And we should have great photos that make us feel fantastic and show us looking gorgeous. These aren’t luxuries – they’re necessities from my point of view. There is beauty at every age, and in every size, shape and colour. I’m great at working with people who are uncomfortable in front of a camera to bring out their best, so there’s no need to be apprehensive or worried about how your photos will turn out.

You don’t always have to look at the camera.
This is a studio shot, with the soft wrap-around light provided by a softbox. The image is reflective, sensitve, and gorgeous. It gives the impression that I’ve tip-toed into somebody’s world and stolen a moment. Love it!

I will suggest a variety of poses to you and provide guidance throughout.
Your suggestions are welcome too. There will be frequent stops to show you the shots we are achieving in the camera. You will find this feedback really valuable. Remember, it’s not how the world sees you that really matters - it’s how you see yourself!

I do a small amount of re-touching to images so that they appear as natural as possible.
A little bit of skin retouching/smoothing is often all that is required to achieve a great look, especially with regard to acne, so don’t worry about how your skin will appear in the photo.

Classic, contemporary or creative.
I can create a variety of portrait styles for you. We can try out different backgrounds, lighting, poses and props. The hardest part will be choosing which fantastic shots you like the best!

Looking for a wedding venue in the eastern Bay of Plenty?
Sweet Magnolia Estate is a little treasure of a venue hidden on Mangaone Rd, just off Braemar Rd. I ‘discovered’ it recently while shooting a wedding for an overseas couple. Previously I hadn’t heard much about it which is surprising because it rivals and even surpasses other more well-known venues in the area.

The driveway to the venue resembles the approach to an English country estate, with poplars, hedge and bridge. A clear stream runs through the property, the lawns are manicured and the gardens fairly large. Having never been to Sweet Magnolia Estate before, it definitely made a good impression. There is plenty of room to put up a marquee also if it’s required. There are areas of open shade too – ideal for flattering photos of faces, family groups etc.

The character house on the property is large and elegant. It is furnished beautifully, with impeccable presentation. A stunning front room sets the scene for romantic shots with a yester-year, elegant ambience. There is also a beautiful wooden staircase.

An absolutely wonderful feature of this venue is the top story room that overlooks the front garden where wedding ceremonies are held. This enables photographs of the bride walking up the aisle from a bird’s eye view. A white arched pergola, white chairs and red carpet complete the picture postcard look. Top marks to Wendy, the owner and host for being most helpful and having everything looking fantastic and running smoothly on the day. Overall I was pretty impressed with this venue for wedding photos and it’s definitely worth considering if you’re planning a wedding in the eastern Bay.

Relationships should be celebrated.
Whether it’s an official anniversary or just something you’ve always wanted to do, a photo of you and your sweetheart is a priceless and thoughtful gift to yourself or others. Needless to say photos such as these become more valuable as time goes by. Photos can mark milestones in our lives but are also great for celebrating ‘just because’.
